Fixed Gear Blogs Beat Fixed Gear Forums

Fixed gear forums are like dinosaurs when it comes to online information. Blogs represent what the internet has led to and they are like a better form of forums. There are already a few fixed gear bicycle blogs out there including WheelGirl. Why is this blog different from the other blogs, because my goal is to have YOU write the content. Rather than me sit here on top of my throne telling you which bike parts are the shit I decided to make it a blog where anyone can sign up and write their own reviews of fixed bicycle gear.
Here are 5 reasons why you should use fixed bicycle gear blog over a forum.
1. Blogs are easier to use - just sign up and see how intuitive a blog is. It is a WYSIWY (what you see is what you get) type of environment so if you know how to use word you will know how to use a blog.
2. Blogs are more organized - the problem with most forums is they get to crazy. Too much information, not clear whats going on, and just flat out messy. Blogs are time based, but if you want to search by categories, or tags that cool too. It will make it 10 times easier to find what your looking for.
3. Videos and Pictures- it is far easier to add video from YouTube or pictures of your fixed gear through a blog then it is in a forum.
2. Comments - Best thing about blogs is how easy it is to comment. I know in forums you can reply, but nothing beats a blog comment since anyone can do it without having to register or login.
1. RSS - if you do not know about RSS then you should look into it. The best thing about a blog is that you can subscribe to the RSS and recieve new postings to an RSS reader rather than having to go to the website every time you want to see if theres anything new worth reading.
