It's what kept him in shape and his mind alert. Once they told him he was too old to ride it, it was all down hill from there. I have just started getting into fixed gear biking (well biking in general) and i've noticed I get the staredown by fixie elitist, because i can't ride 100mph or do a wheelie for ten blocks. I think we lose ourselves, when we start getting the elitist mindset. I just enjoy the sport of biking and the thrill of pushing right through traffic. Great thought.
